Public-Domain Materials

Official traffic-sign images displayed on The Permit Test are the standard sign designs from the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), published by the US Federal Highway Administration. As works of the United States federal government, these designs are in the public domain (17 U.S.C. § 105). The Permit Test claims no copyright in them, and you remain free to use those underlying government designs from their official sources.

Facts about state exams (question counts, passing scores, permit ages) are likewise uncopyrightable facts. What The Permit Test owns is its original expression: the prose, explanations, diagrams, compilation, and teaching structure built around those public materials.

Permitted Use

Personal, non-commercial study use is permitted and encouraged. Reproduction, scraping, bulk downloading, redistribution, or use of our content to train competing products or machine-learning models is prohibited without a written license.
